Nicola Bailey

Nicola is a strategic leader, educator, and advocate who possesses over 25 years’ experience of driving equity, inclusion, and mental health provision in the field of education. During her career she has occupied various senior leadership roles, however in recent months she has transitioned to working across multidisciplinary sectors as a freelance city-wide SENCO lead, trainer and advocate.

Nicola has attended various conferences and events speaking nationally on themes associated with safeguarding, racial equity, neurodiversity, and trauma-informed practice. She was recently co-opted onto a leading SEN & AP Council, sits on the board of a SEMH organisation and partners with charities to strengthen inclusive practice in schools and communities.

Nicola’s freelance work is committed to transforming the life experiences of those who face disadvantage by creating spaces to enhance the understanding of intersectionality, race, mental health, safeguarding, and faith. 

Nicola’s recent move towards politics is driven by her zeal to give a voice to everyday people. 

She is proud of her Christian faith and as a former RE teacher she keenly engages with all faiths and worldviews to enhance co-production practices and understanding of individuals and communities.
