Jojo Godfrey

Membership Secretary

Jojo Godfrey is a psychologist, community activist and approved parliamentary candidate who has been part of Daisy Cooper’s campaign and operations team in St Albans. A deep commitment to fairness, inclusion and real community change drives her. With a background spanning psychology, PR and marketing, and over 15 years in frontline, people-focused roles, Jojo combines lived experience with professional insight.

As a Black woman, Jojo understands firsthand how systems can exclude, silence and disadvantage those who don’t fit a narrow mould. That perspective drives her commitment to racial equality and her work with the Liberal Democrat Campaign for Race and Equality. For Jojo, this is not just about advocacy; it’s about action: ensuring the party truly reflects its values in who it selects, supports and listens to.

Jojo sits on the Hertfordshire Police Race Inclusion Board and the Scrutiny Panel for Use of Force, holding institutions to account and advocating for better outcomes for marginalised communities. She has also served as an Engagement Motivator in St Albans, supporting councillors, energising volunteers, and helping residents find their political voice.

Jojo believes representation matters, not as tokenism but as the foundation for trust, credibility, and better decisions.

At the time of writing, Jojo is also working to become an approved parliamentary candidate.
