Humaira Sanders
Position in exec, i.e. Executive Member
Humaira Sanders is a member of the English Council Executive and serves as a London Representative. She is also involved in the London Region Executive, London Candidates Committee, London Campaigns Committee, and Scrutiny Committee.
In 2025, she worked on amendments to various motions for the Autumn 2025 Conference. She attends the Federal Policy Committee meetings as the LDCRE Rep and, in that role, has been active in raising the profile of issues related to racial inequalities. Since racial inequalities exist across a broad range of policy areas, this has led her to make numerous interventions with FPC and the Policy Department staff to improve our internal processes. Humaira has provided LDCRE’s feedback to the Home Office Spokesperson’s team on the motion concerning policing, as well as responding to policy consultation papers on behalf of the LDCRE.
At the London Region Conference, Humaira expressed support for the LDCRE motion being debated there. She actively participates in the Diversity Taskforce for London, a collaboration between LDCRE and the London Region to enhance engagement with ethnic minority voters in London.
On the London Region Executive and its Campaigns Committee, Humaira has regularly spoken about how we can better engage with voters from ethnic minority backgrounds and elect more candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds at every level of government.
Humaira mentors others and promotes greater involvement in Party activities to accomplish our shared objectives.
